Überall und Nirgendwo
Intro
"Überall und Nirgendwo" (Everywhere and Nowhere) is my attempt to bring the average cityscape of German cities from the unconscious to the forefront. Beginning on level 1, the "Hauptstrasse" (main street), with a focus on the standard German city house, descending to level 2, "Mauern und Bäume" (Walls and Trees) an observation of how individual trees in these cities interact with house walls, continuing on to level 3, "Monumente in der Nachbarschaft," Momuments in the neighborhood focusing on the ubiquitous small infrastructure installations and their impact on the city scape, I finally arrive on the pavement of the street itself "Roadkill".

Hauptstrasse
Every village in Germany, no matter how small, has a main street (German Hauptstrasse). In my project, the "Haupstrasse" is therefore representative of all the roads in our villages, small towns, and suburbs. More than any "designer house," no matter how grand, that is occasionally found in these villages and then celebrated by magazines and newspapers, it is the average house along the "Hauptstrasse" that determines the character and our perception of these streets. The project is an attempt to capture and present these style-defining houses.

Walls and Trees
Every village has its monuments, but most people fail to recognize them.
